‘My Name is Phoenix’ is one of Sona’s most recent experiments with Armenian text transfers and collages. The pieces she used for this collage are the fragments of her own past that she carries on her own inner skin. Set on a bleeding or half-burned background of her native language, assembled from the ripped off pieces of her older works, it’s all about coming back to life from ashes and resurrection.
